How to Paraphrase Easily Without Going Insane?

on April 09 at 11:14 AM

No matter what your educational level is, essay writing is never anyone's favorite. Some of you may use online paraphrasing tool to get this paper done on time. Paraphrasing is the process of using someone else’s ideas or work in your own words without altering the original meaning. The task can be tricky if you're not aware of the right steps. So, here are the three easiest ways to paraphrase any document like a pro.

1. Begin the opening sentence at a different point

Most students say, 'help me write my essay’ because they find it hard to paraphrase the introductory paragraph. Try to start at a different point s compared to what you see in the original version. You can modify the order of information, keeping the context of the essay intact. You can even paraphrase the last sentence of the original source and use it in the first sentence of your introduction. Make sure the paraphrased introduction is relevant to your topic.

2. Include relevant synonyms

You can paraphrase almost anything using relevant synonyms. Just make sure the synonyms match the overall context of your work. If you are not sure, you can ask your seniors ‘please, rate my paper and help me identify any irrelevant synonyms.’ Here are some examples of synonyms:

  • Outpaces- rapidly eclipsed
  • Power- immense influence
  • But-yet, nevertheless and even so

You needn’t have to use an old boring dictionary to write the synonyms. There are online thesauruses available. Remember, you aren’t supposed to overdo these things. You CAN use some words exactly as written in the original text.

3. Change the structure of sentences

You should always change the structure of sentences while paraphrasing. Keep the original meaning intact. If the original sentence is written in passive voice, write the paraphrased sentence in the active voice to make it different than the original version. Paraphrasing numbers or arithmetic problems can be tough, though. So, you can use different numbers and use a word problem solver to derive the answers to those problems.

You may need some time to get the hang of paraphrasing. Practice hard unless you master this art successfully. There are several relevant worksheets available online. Try those out and seek help whenever required.
