Spain currently has a total of 76 bitcoin ATMs installed throughout the country, 40 of which have been incorporated so far in 2018, placing it in fifth place among the countries with the most ATMs in the world.

According to data from the Coin ATM Radar site, where the incorporation of new bitcoin ATMs is monitored globally, most of the machines are located in the city of Barcelona .

In this sense, the Spanish firm BTCGroup affirms that it has the most extensive network of ATMs in the Iberian country, with several ATMs in Spain, mostly accompanied by electronic products stores in which they accept payments in bitcoins.

Although the BitBase company has also deployed a wide network of bitcoin ATMs so far in 2018, the BTCGroup engineering team developed a specific ATM, which they identify as the "BTCFácil" Human Cashier, which offers, as an added value , the service of a person who is next to the cashier to advise and help the clients to carry out their transactions.

Thus, at the end of this year, Spain owns 2% of ATMs installed worldwide , despite the low market that has characterized almost all of 2018, with the strongest drop in the prices of cryptocurrencies recorded in last november

Regarding this issue, the Coin ATM Radar firm was pronounced in the most recent publication of its blog, where it analyzes the dynamics of bitcoin ATMs this month, drawing attention to the fact that the number of bitcoin ATMs continues to grow both in Spain and around the world.

In this sense, it is worth noting that, only in November 2018, there was a growth of 3.6% in the number of bitcoin ATMs, which went from 3096 computers to a total of 4047 across the globe. According to the figures, the list of nations with ATMs, led by the United States , was joined by three countries: Peru, Albania and South Korea.

Growth is not only related to bitcoin ATMs, but also to other cryptocurrencies such as ether (ETH) and litecoin (LTC).

This November, the number of altcoins accepted at ATMs reached 59%. Again, ether was the currency accepted in the largest number of ATMs. It was added on 139 machines (increase of 7.97%). Bitcoin ranked second with 115 additions (increase of 2.93%), followed by litecoin, which was added to 105 new machines (4.57% increase).

It is worth mentioning that, according to these recent statistics , the country with the largest number of exchange stations in Latin America is Colombia, with 27 locations ; followed by Panama (11), Mexico (11), Dominican Republic (8), Argentina (5), Costa Rica (3) and Ecuador (3).
